So, Lachie could never really be considered a dancer. His parents had made him do jazz dancing when he was a teeny-totter, but other than that he was dreadful at it. If it weren't for Lexi showing up tonight, Lachie wouldn't have bothered really. His sister had dressed up as Mrs. Lovett, so, Lachie felt like he should dress up as Sweeney. He had the black and white hair going for him, but he was no match for Johnny Depp in the looks department. He hoped sincerely that Lexi would recognize him in this new outfit of his, and what hers would look like. Lachie folded his arms and leant against the door of the Great Hall.

If you want to play it like a game Well, come on, come on, let's play Cause I'd rather waste my life pretending Than have to forget you for one whole minute
Oh god. I feel so bloody stupidLexi thought to herself as she walked in in her long white gown. Her best friend had picked out some ridiculously long dress for her, and insisted she go dressed up as Rapunzel or some other character from Disney movies. She hounestly had no idea who she was supposed to be, but hell, who cared. Lexi's hair was done up, instead of being pulled down around his face like it usually was, or done up in a loose ponytail. And she was actually wearing makeup. Lord what was happening to the world. Lexi wondered if anyone would actually realise this was her, if Lachie would. She had planned on skipping it, but he had organised to meet her here. She sighed and walked in, going straight for the drinks table.

far away, this ship is taking me far away, far away from the memories of the people who care if i live or die
The most beautiful girl Lachie had ever seen stalked straight past him to the drinks table. Lachie grinned to himself, of course he'd recognize her anywhere. She obviously didn't see him in this stupid outfit of his. He sighed and marched on straight after her. When he found her, she was standing with her back to him, gulping down some butterbeer or something of the sort. He gently tapped her on the shoulder. "Going somewhere in a hurry?" he raised an eyebrow at her, grinning slightly. "You look really.... stunning."
The second compliment he'd ever given in his life. Gee, this girl was lucky in the sense that Lachie never really took an interest in any thing, rarely saying anything nice, either. He smiled at her and linked his arm in hers. Well, the one that wasn't carrying a drink anyway. He led her to the middle of the dancefloor. The band was already playing some slow waltz song -- Lachie groaned internally. He waited for Lexi to finish her drink before they started dancing. "You know, if you don't want to be here right now we could go for a walk near the lake or something.." he suggested quietly, bending over to whisper in her ear.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

Lexi began to down a drink, faster then she had ever before. This was a new situation for her. She really wasn't a great dance, and she usually didn't go around to dances. If she did, she would have been sitting with a bunch of mates, just talking and drinking. Lexi quickly turned around when she heard a familiar voice behind her. What looked like a good impression of Sweeney Todd was standing there. "Lachie? Wow. You went all out. You look awesome. Better than my princess costume anyway. I will definitely be murdering my best friend for picking this one out for me," she said, felling lousy that she was even wearing a dress.
He took her hand and lead her to the middle of the dance floor. Oh god! He doesn't actually expect me to dance does he? she thought. She quickly finished off her drink and they began a sort of awkward dance. Lexi groaned. It was a waltz. Could this get any worse. "You know, if you don't want to be here right now we could go for a walk near the lake or something.." Saved! Lexi thought. She really did want to get out of here. But she didn't want to ruin the night for him. "If you want to stay, we can," she whispered back.

"I look awesome? I look like a freak. Yipee." He rolled his eyes and grinned at her and her stunning outfit. He raised an eyebrow when she criticized it. "Actually, I think you look beautiful in it."
he put his hand on her waist and picked up her other hand, now drink free. He smiled at her, and they began to waltz slowly. Almost like a slow dance. [Cha chiiiing. he thought to himself quietly. He spun Lexi around slowly, and headed towards the door of the Great Hall. Once he stopped spinning her and they had reached the entrance hall, he took her hand in his -- a brave move for someone completely anti-social -- and he led her outside where the night was lit by the stars. "So, how are you, apart from being rather dizzy?" he queried, not quite looking at her eyes.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

"Oh please. The make-up, the black and white hair. All if it looks wicked! Whoever did it is an artist," she said, quite hounestly. Lexi blushed slightly as he put his hand on her waist, and again when he complemented her. She decided to try and cover that fact up. "You better stop with the complements. Otherwise you will give me a big head," she said. She got an image of her head swelled up to the size of a massive balloon and had to suppress the urge to laugh. As it was, a smile appeared on her face.
He began a slow waltz with her. Oh no, oh no she thought. She hoped that the panic that she felt didn't appear on her face. But he was a good dance partner, and she kept her eyes on her feet. When she looked up, he had a smile on his face and they were in the Entrance Hall heading outside. She let go a sigh of relief when the stopped dancing. The began to walk and she felt his hand slip into hers. She smiled, this night was starting to get better. As the got outside, she stopped and picked up the side of her long white dress so that it didn't get dirty. She was wearing heels, but that wasn't a problem as she always wore heels anyway.
When they began to walk again, she answered his question. "Yeah, I'm all good. My heads back on my shoulders now, so it's all good," she said, like him, slightly avoiding his eyes. "How about you?"

"Alright, shutting up." he grinned at her after she said she was going to get a big head from all the compliments. Before he knew it, they were outside. She lifted her dress up in one hand, while Lachie held the other. They walked together outside for a bit. He grinned, "Well, I'm glad you're less dizzy. I'm doing pretty well myself, thanks."
Okay, so he was doing fantastic. The first time he had actually felt happy in a while, but it's not like he would admit it out loud. He walked along the side of the black lake, still holding her hand; a comfortable silence between them. He wasn't so sure what to say next, he never really was. Did she actually like him, the way he liked her? Or was this just a pity date, or something to that extent. He pressed his lips into a hard line, fighting the urge to ask her.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

Lexi smiled. She actually surprisingly enjoyed his complements. They were really good. They walked around the lake for a while and then Lexi stopped. "Umm, okay, embarrassing, but I kind of need to take these heels off. They are killing me, and lets face it, I really hate them," she said as she stopped and lifted up one of her legs to take off the heel on that leg, still not letting go of the massively long dress. When that one was off, she did the same with the other leg. Now her hand held two things, her dress and her heels.
Lexi really wished that she could be on her broom right now. that would be totally awesome. It's not that she wasn't having a good time. She was. She just remembered how close they had gotten when they were up there. She looked down at their hands and laughed. "Wow, you have massive hands. It just sort of completely swallowed mine," she said, playing with his hand. This night was turning out to be really good.

Lachie laughed. He loved the way that she always broke the silences with something completely random. He held her balance as she took the shoes off. "There, feeling better now?" he chuckled. She was a fair bit shorter than he was, he could probably put his chin on her head if he wanted to. He snapped out of his train of thought as she talked to him again. He pulled his hand -- and hers, which was attatched to it -- up to his eyelevel. She probably had to jump to keep up with the height, and he laughed at the thought of that. "Tiny hands for a tiny person."
he laughed. He was unsure about what he was going to do now, but his instinctiveness took over. He pulled Lexi over to where he was, so they were closer than they'd ever been before. He wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her just that little bit closer, resting his chin right next to the top of her head. "See? I can nearly put my chin on your head. You're short." he laughed. Well, she was short to him. Everyone was short to him, seriously. Being 6'4" sucked sometimes. He left his arms around her waist, completely liking where this was going. He breathed in deeply, smelling her perfume. It really suited her, and he liked it. Lots.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

Lexi glared at his laugh. "You try walking in heels for a while. Besides, this is probably what, the third time I've worn heels. I hate those things. They're like a torture device for women. And yes thank-you. My feet are felling considerably better" she said, looking up at his blue eyes. It was funny how much taller he was compared to her. And Lexi wasn't short. She was pretty tall, but obviously not tall enough. "Yes, well even a giant would look small compared to you. Seriously, did your parents feed you a growing potion ass a baby. That's not normal" she said, a smile breaking out on her face. Suddenly, he grabbed her around the waist and brought her into a hug, resting his chin on her head. She liked the feeling of it here. "Yeah, you are too tall for your own good. No wonder you can't sit on a broom" she said to his chest. She brought her arms up behind his back, dropping her shoes and dress, hugging him with a hand on each shoulder. This wasn't going to be just a good night. It was going to be a night she would remember for a very long time.

Lachie laughed, holding her close to him. "Me? Wearing high heels? Maybe one day I might, but then I'd be way too tall for your own good." he said, still laughing. Maybe one day he actually would, just for a laugh. But then if anyone else found out he would be the laughing stock of the school for the rest of the time he went there. He shuddered mentally at the thought of it. "Well, I'm glad your feet are better now. I think those shoes are just torture devices full stop. It'd suck if someone stepped on your foot with those pointy things on."
What a scary thought. It'd probably pierce the skin or something. Ew. Lachie supressed a chagrin. He laughed again. "Oh no! My secret's been found out." he grinned. "Yeah, I am half giant. Totally." he chuckled sarcastically. He was taller than both his parents, it was true. Maybe he secretly was related to giants or something. That would be kinda trippy. "Well, I just kinda suck at flying, period." He wondered when his next lesson with Lexi was. He smiled at the thought. Her hands found their way up to his shoulders, her head resting against his chest. He moved one hand up to her hair, combing his fingers through it. It was really soft, and long. He liked it. What wasn't to like about her anyway? He had a small gleam of hope that she actually liked him back. Well, she wouldn't let him be this close to her if she didn't, right? Hmmm. Lexi laughed harder at that. The thought of him wearing high heels was just hilarious. "Oh god. If you ever do plan to wear heels, make sure I'm there to witness it. Oh, and make sure no one else sees you" she said. Wow, he was actually think a lot like her. That was awesome. He seemed like an awesome guy, and she would have really loved to spend more time with him. She felt his fingers find her hair and begin to stroke it. She smiled into his chest. Good thing she had washed her hair that night. "Oh yeah. It cains. Believe me, it's happened to me. It's one of the most painful things ever. I've still got a scar" she said. She had a scar between two of her toes where her brother's fiancee stood on her foot. It was an accident, so there was absolutely no hard feelings.
Lexi leaned back so that she could look at him. "Wow, half giant. That's seems cool. Which side" she said inquiringly, but she could tell that she was pulling his leg. She knew that he wasn't half giant. Would I care if he was? she wondered. So many things were changing for her today. It was weird. Lexi was actually feeling self conscious. She wanted to please this guy, but she didn't' know if he liked her.

Lachie searched the grounds for any signs of human life. It seemed clear, other than himself and Lexi. He untangled himself from her, very unwillingly, but turned to look at her. "Alright, I'm going to make a fool of myself. Hand me the high heels, or did you drop them somewhere?" He queried. Good thing it was kind of dark and Lexi couldn't see him blush madly at the thought of it. "I hope to god you have big feet, or else these shoes will completely kill me."
He untied one of his shoes, and then the other. He reached down to the ground and picked up the high heels. He wrinkled his nose at them. This would hurt a bit. he put one shoe on, holding onto Lexi's shoulder for balance support, then the other. He stood on the grass, holding his hands out either side of him, for balance. He was wobbling around like jelly on a plate. "Well, this isn't the best experience I've ever had.." he commented. "Happy? Can I take them off now?" he laughed. They really did hurt, and he hadn't even started to walk around yet. That could have been from the smallness of the shoes compared to his giant feet. He bent over and took them off, discarding them next to his other pair of shoes. He was now, shoeless. The grass was kinda wet beneath his bare feet. "Well, there's something you don't see every day." he raised his eyebrow, suppressing laughter. He pulled Lexi gently back into the hug they had before, his hand continuing to comb through her hair. "Ha ha ha, yeah, my umm... mum is totally a giant. He said sarcastically again. "And I was brought up by a pack of werewolves." he grinned, again, sarcastically. This was turning out to be such an awesome night.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

Lexi felt, rather than saw Lachie's head moving around, searching for a sign of human life that was other than them. She then realised what he was about to do, a second before he told her to pass her heels. OMG, he's actually going to do it she thought. She was about to tell him that it was a joke, but then thought about it. Why not, it won't hurt him. And it would show him just how much those things hurt. "You better not break the heels. They're expensive and are going straight to Larissa after I'm done tonight. Besides, my foot is probably ten times smaller than yours, she said. She was actually worried about him breaking and ankle or something.
He held onto her for balance. Oh god she thought. She sighed a sigh of relief when he was done. Thank god he didn't hurt himself she thought. "Wow, you have guts. Most people would run a mile away from those heels" she told him as he took her into another hug. If they were hugging so much, then that must mean that he liked her to. Especially because he was taking her into all the hugs. It must mean he liked her right? She snorted. "A giantess mother and raised by a pack of werewolves. That must have been an interesting upbringing. And through all of this, you can't even fly a broom," she said, looking up at him again.

"No harm done, I think. The heels should be fine." He hoped sincerely that he hadn't damaged them. They looked good on her, but they probably looked terrible on him. How embarrassing would it be if he looked good in high heels? Lachie shuddered at the thought. Sometimes, his train of thought was weird. "Pfft, I forgot to mention I'm Superman, too."
he said, holding onto her tightly. "Yeah, life at the Parker's was weird when I was little. Ha ha." he joked. "Seeing as I could already fly around, from being Superman and all, I never really needed to learn how to fly." Yeah, this was getting weird now. Lachie was never really one for these kinda jokes, but Lexi seemed to like it, which kept him going. "Mmhm." he mumbled, staring down into her beautiful eyes. He wanted to make the next move, but he was so scared that she didn't feel the same way. His mind was still torn about it.[/blockquote][/blockquote]
